Inzina Law Injury Attorneys takes cases that are hard to prove and hard to win, and tries them when they have to be tried. The results below include a claim two other law firms had already turned down and a judgment against the United States Government after trial.
Every case is different, and past results are not a guarantee of future successes. What these pages show is how we work: what the other side offered, what we did about it, and where the case ended up.
What kind of cases does Inzina Law take?
Serious injury cases in Acadiana, with commercial truck collisions at the center of the practice. Six of the 16 recent results below came from a crash with a commercial truck or commercial vehicle, and those six account for most of what we have recovered. We also handle maritime and offshore injuries, and claims against government drivers under the Federal Tort Claims Act.
Blase Inzina spent 12 years defending insurance companies before he switched sides. He knows how a carrier values a file, and he knows the difference between a file marked for settlement and a file marked for trial. That is why we prepare every case as though it is going to a courtroom.
Has another firm already told you no?
That is not the end of it, and it is worth one more look. One of the results below is a case two other law firms declined, both of them telling our client it would be too hard to prove. Hard to prove is not the same as impossible, and a case that needs work is not the same as a case without value.
Fall cases, contested liability, a client who was partly at fault, an injury an insurer says was pre-existing: these are the files that get turned away on the first phone call. They are also the ones where the difference between a lawyer who looks and a lawyer who does not is the whole case.
If you have been told you do not have one, the second opinion costs nothing.
What happens when we do not accept the offer?
We file suit and we try the case. Most injury claims still resolve before trial, and that is often the right outcome for the client. Three of the results below came out of federal court, including one against the United States Government itself, where there was no insurance company to claim against and government lawyers on the other side. In the largest result on the list they made no offer at all until the eve of trial. When the offer is not close, the answer is a courtroom.

Frequently asked questions
Does a bigger settlement offer mean my case is worth more?
Not on its own. An early offer reflects what the insurance company thinks it can close the file for, not what the case is worth. In the federal case above, the first offer was $50,000 and the judgment was $800,000. Have a lawyer evaluate the claim before you accept anything.
Will my case go to trial?
Probably not, and that is normal. Most injury cases settle. What changes the settlement is whether the other side believes you will try it. We prepare every file that way.
How much does it cost to hire Inzina Law?
Nothing up front. We work on a contingency fee, which means we are paid a percentage of the recovery and you owe no attorney fee if we do not win.
Do you take cases against the government?
Yes. Claims involving federal, state, or local government vehicles follow different rules and shorter deadlines than an ordinary car accident claim. A claim under the Federal Tort Claims Act has to be filed with the correct agency on Standard Form 95 within two years of the accident, before any lawsuit is possible.
